My name is Jack Knight. I started Stardate Records to create a space where musicians can explore ideas and turn them into something real. My path as a songwriter, performer, and producer — including years recording and playing shows — shaped a collaborative approach that always puts the art first.

My career as a public school educator taught me to listen closely, adapt quickly, and meet people where they are. In the studio, that means a patient, open environment with room to experiment, refine, and stay true to your sound.

BiographyJack grew up in Chico, California's verdant music scene, writing songs, playing house parties and festivals, and basking in the warmth of an arts loving community. After a few touring years and a move to Seattle, he released his debut solo album Some For Jack, Some For Jesus (2018) and created The Dylan Revue in 2019. In 2020, he formed Seattle alt-rock band The Coozies, dazzling stages until the 2025 passing of Liam Near, founding member, longtime collaborator and friend. As an artist, producer, and engineer, Jack has written, recorded, and mixed projects, from rock to folk to hip-hop, bringing an analog sensibility to his production work and his songwriting. Drawing from his NorCal roots while reflecting the creative spirit of the Pacific Northwest, his latest single Modern Prometheus Ch. II (2024) moves toward 70’s rock & pop and engages with a Frankenstein-esque narative that asks are we creators or are we monsters?
